Field Trips
Providing
field trips for young cancer patients and their families serves
many purposes. Research has shown that children who receive
‘extras’ while in treatment have an increased
chance of recovery, an improved prognosis and they use less
pain medication. Additionally, they have higher self-esteem
and an improved mood and outlook.
This program provides children and their entire families
with either no cost or reduced cost passes to local attractions.
The family can decide which day to use the passes, thus eliminating
worry about having to go on a day their child might not feel
well. It allows the entire family to have some fun time and
helps the child feel like a child, instead of a patient. Sponsor
a family outing and you can help brighten someone’s
day.
